Pretty much all PCs around the £500 mark will be more than adequate for watching DVDs, photo editing, and keeping the Cherry Cola Café up to date. <BR/><BR/>I think you're right to focus on memory and hard disk capacity as priorities. The only real reason you'd want more processing power - in my view - is if you were playing modern games.<BR/><BR/>As for Vista, I would hold off from that for the time being, unless it comes with your new PC. You'd find that some older hardware might not work with it, if the appropriate drivers haven't yet been written.<BR/><BR/>Anyway, hope that helps a little.
